It is requested that Medal classes be offered at all shows sanctioned by SFHJA.
As of May 1, 2007, these classes may be entered by exhibitors who are not members of SFHJA, however, only members of SFHJA will receive points to qualify for Medal Finals held at SFHJA Charity Show.
The medal classes will run on a single point cumulative system. 1st through 6th places to count. The top twenty (20) plus two alternates, if available, will qualify for the medal finals held at the SFHJA Annual Charity show. The winner of the Medal Finals Class shall no longer be eligible to compete in any phase of the SFHJA Medal Class.
The show will furnish a minimum of 6 ribbons.
SFHJA CHILDREN’S PONY HUNTER SEAT MEDAL
This class will consist of two phases. Phase I: All contestants will compete over a minimum of eight (8) hunter type fences at 2’ or 2’6” based on the size pony, including one change of direction. Phase II: Ten riders, if available, will perform on the flat both ways of the ring and may be asked to jump the same or a shortened course. There may be further tests of these riders at the judge’s discretion. Only one rider per pony. Rider may not cross enter into Pony or Junior Medal Class. To fill a class, four riders must complete the course. Class may run concurrently with SFHJA Pony Medal. USEF Tests 1-8
SFHJA JUNIOR HUNTER SEAT MEDAL
This class will consist of two phases. Phase I: All contestants will compete over a minimum of eight (8) hunter type fences at 3’, including one combination and one change of direction. Phase II: Ten riders, if available, will perform on the flat both ways of the ring and may be asked to jump the same or a shortened course. There may be further tests of these riders at the judge’s discretion. Only one rider per horse. Rider may cross enter into the Pony Medal Class, but not on the same pony. To fill a class, four riders must complete the course. USEF Tests 1-19. This class may be combined with SFHJA Adult Amateur Hunter Seat Medal if less than four (4) entries in either section.
SFHJA PONY HUNTER SEAT MEDAL
This class will consist of two phases. Phase I: All contestants will compete over a minimum of eight (8) hunter type fences at 2’3, 2’6” & 3’ based on the size pony, including one change of direction. Combination is optional. Phase II: Ten riders, if available, will perform on the flat both ways of the ring and may be asked to jump the same or a shortened course. There may be further tests of these riders at the judge’s discretion. Only one rider per pony. Rider may cross enter into the Junior Medal Class, but not on the same pony. To fill a class, four riders must complete the course. May run concurrently with the SFHJA Children’s Pony Medal. USEF Tests 1-8.
SFHJA ADULT AMATEUR HUNTER SEAT MEDAL
Open to Adult Amateur riders. This class will consist of two phases. Phase I: All contestants will compete over a minimum of eight (8) hunter type fences at 3’, including one combination and one change of direction. Phase II: Ten riders, if available, will perform on the flat both ways of the ring and may be asked to jump the same or a shortened course. There may be further tests of these riders at the judge’s discretion. Only one rider per horse. To fill a class, four riders must complete the course. USEF Tests 1-19. This class may be combined with SFHJA Junior Hunter Seat Medal if less than four (4) entries in either section.
